House presentation
- As soon as you enter this magnificent residence you will realise that you made the right choice in deciding to spend a dreamlike break in the Château de la Charmeraie.
- As in many middle 19th century manor houses while the exterior architecture is deliberately discreet, the interior reflects a love of well appointed interior decoration giving a feeling of well being, comfort and pleasure.
- What a picture these six large rooms on the ground floor make to welcome you and allow you to meet other guests during your stay if you wish in these magnificently decorated rooms with precious sculptured walnut and wild cherry wood embellishments.
- When the weather permits you may wish to dine in the open air on a 120 square metre terrace (over 1000 square feet) – which can be closed off in a few seconds if the evening air becomes too cold – you will have the same feeling of space by the same view through huge bay windows. This very pleasant terrace dominates the big 12 metres x 6metres (40 feet x 20 feet) swimming pool and also the large one hectare (two a half acres) fishing lake where you can see impressively sized carp and long pike.
- Brigitte Trégouët, the mistress of the house has deliberately chosen to welcome guests with a specific and sumptuously appointed room for each guest that provides a maximum of comfort. In this vein, a lift (elevator), rare in this style of guesthouse allows each of the guests to get to their rooms directly without using the manor’s staircase. All rooms are air-conditioned and they also have their own closed in windowed fireplace that can be used by guests not necessarily just to warm the room but also to provide a cosy or intimate atmosphere in the longer autumn or winter evenings.
- The most modern appliances for comfort are available for guests at the Chateau de la Charmeraie. Each room has a beautiful en suite bathroom and a separate toilet. One of the rooms also has a Jacuzzi. All of the rooms have very comfortable carpeting on the floors
- Far from all pollution at 700 metres high (just over 2300 feet), set in the surrounding greenery of the Monts du Lyonnais, the Chateau de la Charmeraie is in no way lost to the outside world with it’s very high speed optical cable connection (Rhone county optical cable connection) and also via ADSL using the France Telecom network
- So for those that wish, or need, to navigate on the world wide web, if their computer is equipped for Internet connections, they may use their computer to contact the whole of the outside world not only in their room but all throughout the property due to the in house Wi-Fi network.
